Let us introduce ourselves
History of WEC Taiwan
WEC Taiwan was set up in the early 1950’s by Horace and Margaret Williams from the United States. Until now we are more than 65 years old. There were some WEC missionaries came from different countries to Taiwan to work for church planting and mobilizing mission among local churches.
WEC Taiwan’s vision is to reach to unreached minorities of Taiwan like Hakka Chinese group those who are most against to accept the gospel in Taiwan.
There have been working several WEC missionaries from other countries like Insu & Sunghee from Korea for church planting among Hakka Chinese group for many years.
In the other hand, we also work for mobilizing Taiwan churches to be involved for oversea mission. To achieve this, we are glad to give short-term mission courses and take mission meetings to open church’s eyes to world mission. All our mobilization effort is designed to see Taiwan churches stepping forward to serve the nations, renewing and reviving.
Now we have sent five long-term missionaries into Asia, Middle East and Oceania doing church planting work and mobilizing mission work.
In our Taiwan office, we have several WEC missionaries include a new WEC Taiwan Branch leader, Inyoung Ok from Korea supporting our missionaries and mission work behind the scene. We share work on mobilization, recruitment, screening, training, caring, finance and administration.
